NWACS 2022 AAC Information Nights for Caregivers

January 5, 2022 NWACS
NWACS 2022 AAC Information Nights for Caregivers

NWACS Outreach Committee is hosting virtual AAC Information Nights for Caregivers every other month in 2022 via Zoom. This is an opportunity for parents to become empowered and make connections with others in the AAC community. This year (2022), our topic of discussion will be the Communication Bill of Rights. We will have in-depth conversations about each of the rights and relate them to the use of AAC.

National Joint Committee for the Communication Needs of Persons With Severe Disabilities (NJC) Communication Bill of Rights

Our tentative schedule for the 2022 year is as follows:

Tuesday, January 11th at 6pm: Communication Bill of Rights Introduction & Right 1

Tuesday March 8th: Communication Bill of Rights Rights 2-4

Tuesday May 10th: Communication Bill of Rights Rights 5-7

Tuesday July 12th: Communication Bill of Rights Rights 8-10

Tuesday September 13th: Communication Bill of Rights Rights 11-13

Tuesday November 8th: Communication Bill of Rights Rights 14-15

The Zoom links for these meetings will be posted on the Outreach Committee page. Parents, caregivers, and any member of an AAC user’s team is welcome to attend. We look forward to meeting you and discussing AAC as it relates to the Communication Bill of Rights.

Note: Recordings of past AAC Information Nights for Caregivers can be found on our NWACS YouTube Channel.
