Topic: Emergent Switch Use

People who have complex communication needs and physical and sensory challenges require access to assistive technology and robust augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems to participate more fully in life. Physical, cognitive, and psychosocial factors are critical components to evaluating switch access. This presentation will address initial considerations for switch placement, types, and their impact on initial AAC decisions. You will also hear about one switch user’s experience and insight.
