It is essential for students to have learning materials in a format they can read and access if they are to be 'successful learners', while schools and local authorities are required under equality and accessibility legislation to provide learning resources in accessible formats. Provision of learning materials in accessible formats is a fundamental requirement in schools.
In this webinar Paul will review where we can source textbooks in accessible formats and how students with additional support needs can access them. Specifically, he will be looking at accessing books from:
Books for All;
RNIB Education Collection;
The National Accessible Library;
eTextBook commercial publishers.
Paul will discuss how learners with different access needs - including dyslexia, visual impairment and physical support needs - can use iPads, Windows devices and Chromebooks to access digital books.
