“Writing can be complex and difficult for students with significant learning issues and complex communication needs. In this webinar, April will discuss how her team has adapted the David Matteson’s Foundations in Literacy concepts (district-wide approach for primary grades) to building early reading and writing skills by focusing on story telling through personal narrative writing. April will share ideas to support writing for students with significant learning and communication challenges by using picture supports, low and high tech AAC, and alternative pencils. Methods she and her team use to move students through the writing process and develop their skills over time will be shared.
