Many professionals are overwhelmed with the daunting task of providing high-quality education to our learners via new, remote platforms. This presentation is designed to guide all educational team members through successful teleservice sessions by using the Pyramid Approach to Education® framework. We begin by describing necessary considerations prior to remote sessions including caregiver survey questions, learner assessments (to lessen running away from the screen!) and lesson/material preparations. Next, we review specific skills to address with a focus on functional activities, receptive communication and expressive communication in all modalities, including tips for remote Picture Exchange Communication System® (PECS®) implementation. The presentation will conclude with information related to what happens after the skills have been demonstrated including information related to reinforcement strategies, caregiver feedback and navigating difficult teleservice scenarios.
