“Hi everyone of ACES 2023. My name is Bobby Evans. I am a 27 years old young man with Cerebral Palsy which effects my ability to speak with my own voice, but that doesn’t mean I cannot communicate. I just communicate differently. It is important for people to understand that simply because I do not use my human voice that doesn’t mean that I do not have the intelligence and the independence of any other young man and I should be treated just like any other young man would.

I live in West Grove, PA with my 2 dogs and my mom and my brother, Tyler. I am a volunteer for the red cross in southeast PA and I am the co-president for Best Buddies at West Chester University. I enjoy horseback riding, taking road trips, watching movies, and more. Please sign up for my talk about my rights as an AAC user.

I will be talking about some of the experiences I have encountered when people do not treat me like an individual. My mom, Jackie, will be talking as well and she will explain how she handled it when people did not see or hear me. She does not like it too much when anyone does that to me and she lets them know, and wait until you hear some of the things she has said and what they did.”
