NWACS Evening Seminar: Switch Use

NWACS Evening Seminar (virtual meeting)

Topic: Switch Use: Comparing Switch Hierarchies

Some AAC users find switches the most effective means to access their AAC system. So how did they move from using one switch for simple cause-and-effect games to using perhaps multiple switches on a complex AAC system for communication? This Evening Seminar will provide a summary of several of the most commonly used Switch Skill Hierarchies found online to better understand how to support:

  • Moving from using just one switch to two or more switches.

  • Moving from cause/effect for games to simple communication.

  • Moving from simple communication to accessing more complex communication.

We will also hear from an AAC user, Drew Sato, about her journey as a switch user growing up with AAC.

Speakers: Marci Revelli, MS, CCC-SLP and Drew Sato, AAC User
