Voice and message banking is an increasing consideration in Alternative Augmentative Communication practice. Being able to continue to use your own voice can be essential in individuals retaining a sense of self.
Amy and Lesley-Ann are speech and language therapists working with an adult acquired caseload in NHS Tayside. In this webinar they will provide a very practical overview of their clinical experiences and will explore their decision-making processes through several case studies. They will reflect on what they have learned as they have navigated through the challenges including raising the subject of voice banking in the early stages of diagnosis, anticipating AAC need; identifying appropriate voice banking services; funding and effective voice use at point of equipment provision.
