Long Distance LAMP: Applying the Principles via Teletherapy

The Center for AAC & Autism online training

Teletherapy offers access to therapy services as an alternative to an in-person delivery model. While this service model offers many benefits for individuals using AAC, it can be a challenging format for some clients and therapists. Individuals with autism, ADD, and sensory processing differences often have difficulty attending to the therapist on the screen, following directions or participating in structured activities. This webinar will focus on implementing LAMP principles during AAC teletherapy and coaching the in-person communication partner to use strategies to teach language and support communication. This training will not focus on platform selection or general technical troubleshooting, but will include participant discussion surrounding specific challenges, questions, and strategies that have been successful. This training was developed to support professionals who are currently participating in AAC teletherapy or are about to begin doing so.

In order to register for this webinar, participants need to have already completed a full day LAMP training and should have experience implementing the LAMP approach.”
