“This one-hour AAC implementation class focuses on using the Literacy through Unity word study program available on the AAC Language Lab to target decoding, word identification, spelling, and communication. Participants will learn about the scope and sequence of the program (50 lessons) and its major components – Word Wall, Making Words with Icons and Making Words with Letters. In addition, participants will learn why these lessons are important to the beginning reader and how to deliver the curriculum. Practical examples and materials are provided in order for participants to begin literacy instruction with children who use AAC.  

This class is geared towards teachers, therapists, and parents who work with school-age (elementary/middle/high school) children who use PRC devices in a school setting.”
