This beginner-level webinar is the first in a two-part series on partner-augmented input (PAI) in the classroom. Evidence-based research supports the use of partner-augmented input, also known as aided language modeling, as an intervention strategy for individuals who use AAC. There are multiple benefits of modeling AAC use, but how can this be done effectively in the classroom? In this session, attendees will participate in a variety of interactive training elements that will help them learn to provide partner augmented input for their students who use AAC. For those who are already familiar with the technique, this webinar can help fine tune existing modeling skills. Part I will cover commitment to strategy, strategy description and strategy demonstration. It is recommended that participants videotape themselves working with a student using AAC and review the video prior to attending Part 1.
