Recommend a Student with a Disability for the DO-IT Scholars Program

Recommend a Student with a Disability for the DO-IT Scholars Program

From the University of Washington:

DO-IT Scholars prepares Washington State high school students with disabilities for success in college and careers. Scholars attend Summer Study sessions, held during two consecutive summers at the University of Washington campus. This allows students to experience college life and work on self advocacy skills. Throughout the school year, Scholars connect with program staff, DO-IT Mentors, and each other using email and e-lists. They also meet in-person at DO-IT events, complete individual and group projects, and receive valuable information and support for the transition to college.

Preferred applications fit the following categories:

  • are a high school sophomore or junior

  • have a disability

  • aim to continue their education past high school

Applications are accepted throughout the school year for the upcoming summer. However, priority is given to applications received by January 30th. Please email if you are interested but won't have your materials in until after that date! Applications received after that date are still considered on a space-available basis. Send your student to the following link, as well as fill out the teacher/counselor recommendation!
